New to the 9G20

Hi,

I have just received a 9G20 and got it powered and talking to the network. Is there a manual somewhere that gives a bit more detail than the Glolmation supplied one. Specifically I want to install a web server/php and MySQL.

Thanks

Re: New to the 9G20

A pre-packaged Debian file system is available.   The instructions of installing in the FLASH memory on the board is here, http://glomation.net/smf/index.php/topic,8.0.html.  The instructions on how to install on a USB drive can be found here, http://glomation.net/smf/index.php/topic,146.0.html.  The usual Debian package management tools can be used to install software packages.

Re: New to the 9G20

I am also new to this platform. I am using a ubuntu linux station to ftp to the 9G20i, but
1: when I ftp to the device, it does not prompt me for a login password? (but I can view the files)
2: Also, when I try to "ftp-put" a file to the device, it says successful, but the file does not seem to have been tranferred to the device?

(I use the sme ubuntu linux system to ftp to other devices running X-linux devices with no problem).

Anyone has experienced similar problems? will appreciate if anyone knows the solution.

Re: New to the 9G20

To answer my own question on FTP problem, should anyone else encounter similar problem. I solved it by downloading the correctly compiled file from Glomation web site, I used in.ftpd (instead of vsftpd which I was looking for - I could not find a correctly compiled version which runs on the 9G20 hardware). Link the file /usr/sbin/ftp -> in.ftpd, reboot, and it works.
If unable to ftp put to 9G20, first modify the /etc/inetd.conf  line with
21 stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/ftpd ftpd -w
in order to ftp put.
